Penn Highlands Mon Valley has the region’s first Level 4 inpatient substance recovery unit thanks to the support of the CNX Foundation. This state-of-the-art facility provides a critical lifeline for Washington, Greene, Fayette, and Westmoreland counties, offering specialized care that treats both the physical and medical complexities of addiction.
The CNX Foundation’s Local Impact
- A First-of-its-Kind Facility: As a Level 4 center, it provides a higher intensity of care than standard clinics, supported by the full resources of an acute-care hospital.
- Comprehensive Healing: The unit features 14 private rooms designed for safety and dignity, alongside dedicated spaces for group therapy and family interaction.
- Bridging the Gap: By funding local treatment, the CNX Foundation ensures that neighbors and families in Southwestern Pennsylvania no longer have to travel far for high-quality recovery services.
Substance use disorder, and in particular the opioid epidemic, crosses all socioeconomic barriers – it has harmed rural and urban communities alike across Appalachia. We are investing this money because we believe assisting people in their recovery and helping them return to their families, workplaces and neighborhoods will have a positive impact on communities across the region.
